Come to think of it, in today’s fast-paced world the above sentence holds more importance than ever. We are too busy with our often sedentary lifestyles that we forget the basic need to keep our bodies healthy and fit.
But it need not be so! In this post, we are going to talk about some simple, quick and easy-to-do exercises that will help you remain healthy, and keep your body active. Ready. Set. Read!
1. Jumping jacks in the morning
To keep your body active, movement is important no matter how rapid or brief it is. One of the first things you can do to keep your body moving is to do at least 25 jumping jacks a day. This will get your body moving and reduce stress by elevating your body’s hormonal levels, which stimulate positive mood. It would be even better if you could begin your day with this quick workout.
2. Wide Plies while doing the chores
Another great workout that you can perform even while doing your daily chores is the wide plies. All you have to do is spread your legs wide so that the toes are pointing slightly out, lower your rear end and bend the knees at a ninety degree angle. Move up and down, at least 20 times to begin with, and you can have the perfect workout for your inner thighs and legs.
3. The simple push up
Push ups are a staple in every workout regimen. So, how can we leave that behind here? We’ve all done these before and they are a great exercise for your chest, arms, shoulder and back muscles. Just make sure to keep your back as straight as possible. Also make sure to go slowly and extend your arms fully when pushing up to get the whole range of motion.
4. Planks
Last, but definitely not the least, are the simple planks. These really are a simple and highly effective way to not only target your abdominal muscles, but also your back muscles. With each set simply go for as long as you feel comfortable. It’s absolutely normal to feel a slight burn, but this is good! That said, if you experience any pain or discomfort, stop right away. If you’ve never done planks before, here’s a simple video tutorial.
As you can see, all of the above exercises are simple, low impact and highly effective. All you need to have is the will to be active during a busy day. After all, everyone can make time for at least 5-10 minutes of simple exercises simply to remain healthier. So go ahead and try these tips for a week. You will see and feel a positive difference in your life, which you are definitely going to enjoy!
Happy health!
