Tired eyes are a common problem with today’s lifestyle. Our eyes are glued to those LED screens, be it at the office while working on computers, or using our smartphones. And, this is the reason why problems related to eyes, such as weak eyesight, tired eyes and sleep deprivation have become so common in our lives.

To help you recover from the impact of these habits, we are going to talk about some healthy tips that can help. So, let us have a look at those tips one by one –

Tip 1 – Begin your day with a  splash of water

While in many cultures waking up in the morning and splashing your face with cold water is recommended as the best way to wake up, there is a good scientific reason behind it as well. Splashing water on the face actually makes the facial arteries restrict initially, which decreases the blood flow to your face. This lack of blood flow works as a trigger for the nervous system to make you more alert and prepares you to get out and start the day!

Remember: Test the water before you splash for optimum temperature. And, splash at least three times to wake up and get rid of grogginess.

Tip 2 – Put your face in a bowl of water

Another great way to begin your day is to get up and submerge your face in a bowl of cold water. You can begin practicing this habit by submerging the face for 30 seconds during initial days and gradually increase it up to your capabilities. This works in the same way as mentioned above, but is more effective.

Remember: Don’t forget to check the temperature of water. And, also take a deep breath before submerging the face in the bowl.

Tip 3 – A cold-water eye mask is all you need

The last, but definitely not the least tip that we have for you here, is to apply a cold eye mask when you come back from the office after a tiring day. It leaves a soothing effect, plus gives your eyes the rest they deserve after a tough day on the job. Practice this habit by simply folding a towel or small clean cloth and running cold water over it. Wring out the towel and place it on your eyes for a few minutes.

Remember: Make sure the cloth is clean. And, set yourself up nicely on a sofa before you begin to practice this cold water eye mask.
